Rescheduling of SEMICON China Amidst Novel Coronavirus

Will SEMICON China cancel because of Coronavirus?

Earlier this month, SEMI released that SEMICON China will be rescheduled due to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). In their announcement, exhibitors and guests are advised that the annual show will be postponed until further notice. SEMI will be evaluating the health risks that the Novel Coronavirus poses at other upcoming exhibitions and conferences. Each decision for the exhibitions will be taking consideration on a case by case basis. With SEMICON China quickly approaching and the number of cases continues to grow, there is speculation that the show may be cancelled.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all nonessential travel to China and South Korea is to be avoided. While China and South Korea have reached Level 3 on the warning list; Japan, Iran, and Italy have reached Level 2 with Hong Kong at Level 1. Until the pandemic is over, we wish everyone to continue to stay in good health and exercise caution while travelling.
